The Amount Of Contacts Available Today Could Leave Your Eyes ...

Contact lenses have come a long way over the years and can now treat a range of vision problems, even astigmatism. What?s more, they remain an effective way to treat nearsightedness and farsightedness. Buying contact lenses online has never been so popular and now they?re used not only treat vision problems but allow you to change the colour and appearance of your eye cosmetically. There are two main types of contact lenses on the market today: soft and rigid gas permeable

Soft contacts are perhaps the most popular of the two and are made of a flexible, soft plastic that lets oxygen through into the cornea. Soft lenses are much easier to get used to and are more comfortable than the rigid gas permeable style, making them easy for first-timers to master. New soft lenses even use a silicone-hydrogel that?s designed to allow even more oxygen into the eye during use, making them safer and more comfortable.

Daily wear soft contact lenses are a type of lens that?s made with a soft polymer-plastic that has been combined with water, allowing oxygen to pass through the material. A large amount of the daily wear lenses on the market today also offer a degree of UV protection form the sun?s rays. Today, most soft contact lenses sold are disposable and designed to be thrown in the trash after a period of use. There are many reasons to select a daily wear lens. Infection can be reduced by the wearer if fresh contacts are used regularly, and they enhance the comfort for the wearer. This is pertinent for people who?s eyes overproduce protein which can leave to deposits on the actual lenses.

The ability to change contacts on a daily, weekly or monthly basis also means less cleaning is required. Unfortunately, soft contacts have disadvantages as well. They are more prone to absorbing pollutants from the hands, which may hurt or irritate your eyes. They?re also more fragile than hard lenses. Daily disposable lenses are only worn for a single day and thrown away. The benefits of these lenses is that they require less cleaning, maintenance which in turn leads to lower irritation of the eye. These contact lenses are the ideal choice if you suffer from allergies because they prevent dry, itchy eyes.

Silicone extended wear lenses, on the other hand, are made with a silicone hydrogel that allows use for up to thirty days and nights. These lenses have a special material that?s designed to prevent protein build-up and reduce red, itchy eyes. Coloured soft contact lenses are another option that?s becoming very popular. There are four types of coloured lenses. The first is visibility tint, which have a light tint that helps you find the lens if you drop it but do not affect the colour of your eye. Enhancement tint have a translucent tint that can enhance your natural eye colour.

Colour tinted lenses are darker and will change the colour of your eyes. To help athletes in sport, or people in outdoor situations where different shades are prevelant, the light filtering tint lenses have been designed. A different type of lens is the RGP, rigid gas permeable, these are more durable and protein does not build up as much on the lens. These lenses are usually less costly because they do have a longer life spam and are easier to use. Many people find it takes weeks to get used to RGP lenses, however, because they can be uncomfortable. All of the above can be purchased in store or contact lenses online
