Unique Motorcycles

Vehicles were his primary love, however Soichiro Honda?s destiny was to develop the motorcycle that bore his name. He began studying the mechanical side of automobiles while still a teeenager, working in a repair shop, and he loved racing and fast driving. He knew a lot about operating motorbikes, as the owner of a Harley as well as an Indian.

It appeared to be only when he was 41, in 1948, that Honda started his own Honda Motor Company, but he had already owned an auto repair shop, starting way back in 1928. He paid a great deal of attention to top quality, because he believed that to compete he needed well-designed products that were made well. In spite of motorcycle revenue being on an ascending trend in 1953, the economic depression in Japan almost sank his company. A small quantity of motorcycles ended up selling, and since he didn?t want to put people out of work, he kept the factory open. The wisdom of this judgement was borne out in 1958, by the introduction of what became the most successful motorcycle in the world, the C100 Super Cub. The transmission was proficient at only three speeds, and the motor was 4-stroke, however it was versatile, cheap and everybody could use it.

Not merely could new owners operate it effortlessly, but it became a way of commuting for women. The recognition of this bike skyrocketed Honda to the number one position by amount of motorcycle makers in 1959. They decided that it was time for growth around the world. They wanted to set a precedence, so they decided to come to the United States. Success in America would inevitably bring about success worldwide, they believed. The first store selling Honda motorcycles opened in June of 1959, in Los Angeles, and by 1960, successful dealerships, selling Honda?s, were more than 75.

Through community involvement , largely through sponsoring 50% of the funding needed by two organizations, Honda became a trusted brand. Individuals with a passion for motorcycling recognised and appreciated the significance of these organizations, namely the Motorcycle Industry Council and the Motorcycle Safety Council. In the 70?s the Honda company kept developing new models that people just couldn?t resist, and they stayed number one in the industry. They were quickly thought to be the speediest bikes in the world, flowing from their winning of over 70 global races in 1973. Many other bike companies were quick to jump on the bandwagon, when, in 1975, touring bikes became fashionable as well as comfortable, following the introduction of the GL1000 Gold Wing.

Honda continued to produce unique motorcycles which interest a cross-spectrum of cultures. Part of their good image is a result of their continued practice of contributing motorcycles to causes that they regard as worth supporting. Bike safety keeps benefiting by Honda?s ongoing funding of training classes and dissemination of valuable information for the promotion of motorcycling safety. Honda have established a history of trustworthiness over the many years they have been available. They have become renowned rulers in the motorcycle industry, in no small part because of their readiness to innovate irrespective of the circumstances.
