Embellished caps are so popular and fun to make.? I recently found a military style cap on clearance.?The design on the side of the hat had me question if I would actually wear it but the clearance price pushed me to bring it home and pull out my craft supplies.
Supplies:
- hat
- embellishments (this hat used three different scraps of trims purchased from a fabric store)
- fabric glue
I used fabric glue because I wanted the hat to be washable. Apply the glue directly to the hat. It looks messy but dries clear.
Start in the center of your glue spot and wrap the trim around itself to create a flower. Fabric glue is very sticky and will hold the trim in place as you are working.
Tuck the end of the trim under the flower when you are done.
I wanted to completely cover the wording on the side of the hat so I used two smaller pieces of trim to add more flowers. Using the same technique as above, apply your glue to the hat and then start in the center of the glue spot with the trim.
Wrap the trim around itself until and tuck the end under.
The last piece of trim I used was very small.
It fit perfectly between the other two embellishments.
I can?t wait to wear my new hat.
