Have you got the film-making skills to give us quantum thrills?
Does contemplating the quantum universe fill you with inspiration? If so, harness it to create a short film for us that shows us how quantum physics makes you think about the world.
New Scientist has teamed up with the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore to launch an exciting competition: we're looking for films that can blow your mind in just 3 minutes. The top 10 videos will be shown on newscientist.com and there will be cash prizes for the winning entry, runner up and people's choice films.
Our illustrious panel of judges includes Lisa Randall, renowned theoretical particle physicist and author of Knocking on Heaven's Door; Ben Bowie, executive producer of the Discovery Channel's Emmy-nominated Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking; and our very own editor-in-chief, Jeremy Webb.
This is all about inspiration. We don't want you to explain quantum physics to us, but instead give us a glimpse of how the quantum universe influences the way you see things.
For competition details go to: shorts.quantumlah.org. Happy filming!
