Cross promotion promises tremendous potential. Of course, you would want to make arrangements with the other business owners for reimbursement if your promote their services or establishment. Better yet, get access to their email list and promote these other lists in an effort to get them to join one of your lists.

The possibilities are endless. One thing for certain is that a targeted email marketing campaign can take some of the peaks and valleys out of your cashflow. There is no point in wasting time trying to get people to your website if they are not interested in your product or service (or if they aren?t buyers and are not likely to actually make a purchase). All your time and effort will be wasted if you aren?t striving for only targeted traffic. Know your target audience and give them what they want. Taylor Swift's musical evolution has been pretty clearly aligned with her age. While she's writing about love and heartbreak, as she did when she was a teenager, the way she expresses that joy and pain has grown from the puppy-love lyrics to more mature reflections.

Back in the day, on her self-titled debut album, she was writing odes to country superstars, like in "Tim McGraw," and using metaphors to try to understand emotions that she hadn't yet fully experienced. With a career in full swing and a highly publicized love life, three albums later, it's apparent that Swift drew on real-life experiences for Speak Now.

When she sat down with MTV News earlier this week during "MTV First: Taylor Swift" Sway asked what she felt about her musical coming of age. "I don't know," she said. "I think retrospect will tell a lot. Years from now [and] I'll look back and go, 'I didn't know anything then.' "

Swift said the biggest difference between her teenage songs and her current ones is "the kind of things you say when you're hurt."

"I had this song called 'Picture to Burn,' that's talking about how 'I hate your truck,' and 'I hate that you ignored me,' 'I hate you,' " she explained. "Now, the way that I would say that and the way that I would feel that kind of pain is a lot different."

But Swift has no regrets about her earlier songs. "But I think that my first record came out when I was 16, the next one, Fearless, came out when I was 18 and this one came out when I was 20, so I think there's a lot of personal growth.

"I look back on the record I made when I was 16, and I'm so happy I made it," she continued. "I got to immortalize those emotions that when you're so angry, you hate everything. It's like recording your diary over the years, and that's a gift."

Now, to the ongoing recovery effort in Joplin, Missouri. The search operation involving hundreds of firemen and volunteers and dozens of trained dogs continues to comb fields, ponds and ruins. NPR's Wade Goodwyn reports.

WADE GOODWYN: Joplin, Missouri day six post-tornado is a cauldron of heartbreak and relief, a time of looking forward and looking back, of people trying to be normal in the midst of extraordinary.

LAHMUDDIN LAHMUDDIN (Imam): Lord, O, Lord of the universe, our Father is with you. Let this cup of marriage become a beautiful example to other couples...

GOODWYN: At the Holiday Inn meeting room, the families of the beautiful bride, 24-year-old Neelam Asma and her young bridegroom Faisel Chaudry, gathered to watch them marry. Asma lost her wedding dress and her home to the F5 monster that destroyed Joplin. She didn't want to go through with the wedding, but her steadfast fiance bought her a new dress and Imam Lahmuddin Lahmuddin did the honors.

Mr. LAHMUDDIN: Despite our situation and condition here in Joplin, these two families get together today.

GOODWYN: That's the trying to be normal in the midst of the extraordinary, and there's plenty of that. But there's still an abundance of tragedy too.

Ms. LINDY MOLINA: My name is Lindy Molina. I'm looking for my sister. Her name is Melissa Crossley(ph). She lived at 2523 Empire.

GOODWYN: Lindy Malina is looking for the coroner. The story she's heard is that her sister's neighbor emerged from what was left of their home and found her sister lying on top of her sister's nine-year-old son.

Ms. MOLINA: They were face-down on the door and she had her arms wrapped around him. And when they moved her - supposedly she was already gone - but my nephew made it.

GOODWYN: Her nephew was saved by his mother but barely. The boy suffered a broken jaw, broken collarbone, broken hip and broken leg and was badly cut up. But Molina's sister's body has not been found and it is tearing her up.

Ms. MOLINA: If that was her, I need to know for sure. But if it was her, you know, I have comfort knowing that she did the ultimate thing a mother would do, which was give her life to save him.

Mr. GEOFF YUNGER (Sheriff's Deputy): I think they smell something rotting in one of the yards up here on Mississippi Street. So, we're not sure. Could be a dead dog or who knows.

GOODWYN: In a field near Mississippi Street behind a big box store, Deputy Geoff Yunger and canine cadaver teams are searching for human remains.

Mr. YUNGER: You guys go ahead and start heading up there. I'm going to take the canine with me.

GOODWYN: Unfortunately, the dog teams did find more bodies Saturday.

GOODWYN: In the heart of the disaster, the center of the tornado's path, survivors are trying to look forward while desperately searching for the past.

Mr. CHARLIE WILLIAMS: Look it here.

Unidentified Man: Found Allen, all right.

Mr. WILLIAMS: All right.

GOODWYN: Charlie Williams found his wedding ring buried in rubble so deep it was like a needle in a haystack.

Mr. WILLIAMS: My wife's going to be happy.

GOODWYN: Williams and his wife and two dogs survived by lying down in the hallway. Their house was annihilated. They've lived here 30 years and friends and family want to help them rebuild but they're never coming back.

Unidentified Man: We're going to rebuild so you won't have to move to Lamar. Live with us.

Mr. WILLIAMS: Well, I'm going to tell you one thing; my wife says no. We ain't rebuilding here.

GOODWYN: President Obama is coming to Joplin today, a plan that Charlie Williams endorses.

Mr. WILLIAMS: I think he needs to see this, because this is one of the worst storms hit ever in the United States. And so, yeah, he needs to see this. He's the president.

GOODWYN: Five hundred and twenty-three people have been killed by tornadoes this year, the most since 1950. But this bloody month of May 2011 is almost over.

Obama Calls Poland A Leader In Europe, World

President Barack Obama praised Poland's early democratic leaders as an inspiration to the world Saturday, and encouraged them to share their experiences breaking free from the grip of communism with people in the Middle East and North Africa who are seeking greater freedoms.

Obama met here in Poland's capital with dozens of leaders of Poland's Solidarity movement, as well as civil society leaders, some of whom have already traveled to Tunisia where popular uprisings led to the overthrow of a longtime autocrat and sparked the protest movements that swept throughout the region.

Obama said Poland's experience from its own democratic transition would prove invaluable in Tunisia, and throughout the Arab world.

"We all know that in the aftermath of the overthrow of a repressive regime, emotions run high," Obama said. "But new democratic governments have to show themselves to be able to channel that energy in constructive ways to hold themselves to higher standards than their authoritarian predecessors."

Obama met earlier Saturday with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski. He tried to assure Poland that his efforts to boost U.S. relations with Russia are not a threat to Central and Eastern Europe. He also told Komorowski that Poland still needed to be a force for democracy in its own region, particularly in Belarus, a country Obama said is "backsliding." He urged Poland to help encourage democratic forces within Belarus.

"The kind of repressive actions we're seeing in Belarus can end up having a negative impact over the region as a whole and that makes us less safe and less secure," Obama said.

Obama's overnight visit to Poland, his first stop here since taking office, caps a six-day European tour that has also taken him to Ireland, England and France. The whole trip has played out against the backdrop of the Arab rebellions, and time and again Obama has emphasized the potential global impact of a democratic revolution in the Middle East and North Africa.

Poland's legendary Solidarity founder Lech Walesa was supposed to attend the meeting with Solidarity leaders, but announced hours before Obama's arrival here that he had no interest in a meeting that would amount to little more than a photo-op.

Solidarity was a national freedom and labor movement under Walesa's leadership in the 1980s that helped bring down communism. Obama told his hosts that those days stirred Americans.

"I remember at that time understanding that history was being made because ordinary people were standing up and doing extraordinary things with great courage and against great odds," he said. "Your actions charted a course for freedom that inspired many on this continent and beyond."

The message the White House is hoping to send is that two decades after choosing democracy, Poland has a growing economy and is a strategic partner on the world stage ? and the same could happen in Tunisia and Egypt, where another longtime leader has stepped down from power.

Samuel Charap, an expert on Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, said Poland also sees an opportunity to boost its international standing by taking on a consulting role in the Arab uprisings.

"Part of being a serious actor is adding value internationally, and the Poles rightly feel that they can add value on democracy promotion and democratic transition, given their own success since 1989," he said.

Liz Sherwood-Randall, one of Obama's top Europe policy advisers, said the key to making that happen is finding out what worked and what didn't in the transition from communism to democracy and identifying what steps will translate well to the Arab world.

"These countries that moved along towards democracy at the end of the Cold War have great experience to share with those countries that have not yet made that transition," she said.

Sherwood-Randall said democratic institutions in the U.S., including the nonpartisan National Democratic Institute, are already partnering with the Polish to support their efforts to engage in the Arab democracy movements.

And at the Group of Eight summit in Deauville, France, Obama and other world leaders said they hoped to provide Tunisia and Egypt, as well as other countries that follow their path, economic incentives similar to those offered to the Soviet bloc countries 20 years ago.

The G-8 leaders laid out a plan for refocusing the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which was created specifically to help Eastern European economies after the collapse of communism, to help Arab democracies.

The bank was set up when the sudden collapse of the Soviet Union convinced European leaders of the urgent need to support a region emerging from decades of political and economic dictatorship. The idea was to set up a "transition bank" to help lead the way on banking systems reform, price liberalization, privatization and establishing legal property rights in a region just shaking off the effects of almost 50 years of planned economies.

Obama arrived in Warsaw Friday night. He took part in wreath-laying ceremonies at Poland's Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and a memorial for those killed in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. He spoke with Holocaust survivors gathered at the site, telling one elderly man that the memorial was a "reminder of the nightmare" of the Holocaust in which 6 million Jews were killed.

The president also attended a lengthy private dinner with Central and Eastern European leaders, where aides said there was a discussion about the opportunity the Arab uprisings presented for leaders to show their support for democratic change.

Obama had first planned to come to Poland last year for the funeral of President Lech Kaczynski, who was killed in a plane crash. But Obama's trip was scrapped six hours before his departure because of a volcanic ash cloud over Europe that disrupted air travel.

Shortly before departing Warsaw, Obama will stop at a memorial to those who died in the crash.

The president returns to Washington Saturday evening.

It?s said that no good deed goes unpunished, and so it is with the NFL trying to cut down on the traumatic brain injuries and concussions that have dominated football discussion for two years now.

Within hours of the NFL?s announcement on Tuesday that it would extend rules already in place to enhance player safety, NFL players started coming out in fierce and direct opposition to the new edicts, approved at the annual meeting of the league?s owners.

?Football is turning soft now. Too many fines. Too many penalties protecting the quarterback every single play. Defensive guys can?t be defensive guys no more.?

The most significant rule change could be that teams will now face risk of punishment after multiple flagrant hits, with penalties going beyond the financial kind and possibly resulting in lost draft picks.

Another significant rule change include extending protections for defenseless players to place kickers, punters, and quarterbacks after a change of possession. (Right now, during a play in which there?s an interception or other change of possession, a quarterback becomes fair game for someone to take down without consideration.) The NFL is also expanding is rule on ?launching? into defenseless players, mandating a 15-yard penalty for any player who leaves his feet and hits another player in the helmet with his helmet.

James Harrison, an oft-fined linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers and one-time Defensive Player of the Year, took his aggravation to his Twitter account, @jharrison9292 (seen above). One of his teammates, LaMarr Woodley vented while giving an interview on SiriusXM satellite radio.

?Man, they?re getting ridiculous,? he said. ?Football is turning soft now. Too many fines. Too many penalties protecting the quarterback every single play. Defensive guys can?t be defensive guys no more.?

On his Twitter account, @LaMarrWoodley, he was just a tad more snarky: Thoughts on ?the steelers rule???? lol im sorry that im not sorry we hit 2 hard.

Harrison, meanwhile, sought to clarify his comments by ? what else? ? starting his own blog:

I understand the intent behind making the rules, but in their attempt to make the game safer, they are actually clouding what is allowable. Even the referees are confused. A close look will show you that the referees were calling things that were not even supposed to be called, and NOT calling things that were actually illegal.

I wonder why the NFL is suddenly coming down so hard on player?s safety issues. I can?t help but think it?s not actually for the safety of the players.

You can debate for days about why Harrison doesn?t grasp the problem of head injuries and concussions, or why he obviously sees this as a larger extension of the idea that football ? and America, by extension ? is experiencing some sort of wussification. But the facts are that almost every deceased player?s brain donated to science, to be studied specifically for degenerative, life-debilitating diseases, has shown evidence of exactly those conditions.

Give Harrison credit for wanting to do his job in the most efficient and effective way possible, like any of us working stiffs strive to do in the workplace. But a little perspective and compassion likely wouldn?t prevent Harrison from making his fifth straight Pro Bowl this year ? and it might even enhance some opposing player?s quality of life years from now.

And in case Harrison wasn?t aware, it?s not just quarterbacks who get their brains knocked around inside their skull. It can also happen to linebackers. Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles? Stewart Bradley.

Robert Pattinson spent eight months on the set of "Breaking Dawn" and was immediately pulled from set to begin his whirlwind press duties for "Water for Elephants" last month. After perhaps just enough time to take a quick nap, RPattz is now back on a new set: "Cosmopolis," director David Cronenberg's adaptation of the slim Don DeLillo novel.

With production under way, Cronenberg's daughter has posted the first look at Pattinson and Sarah Gadon in character. The photo appears to capture the duo in a cab, though the great majority of the action, or lack thereof, in the book takes place in a limousine. Pattinson plays Eric Packer, a young and rich asset manager who, over the course of one day, manages to lose millions of dollars yet remain oddly detached from it all as his limo plods through horrendous New York City traffic. Gadon portrays Elise, a rich and beautiful heiress who is married to Packer but who doesn't seem to care for him very much at all and who certainly won't sleep with him.

"I had read the script about eight months ago and thought, 'Wow, this is something that hasn't been made in a long time,' " Pattinson told MTV News in March. "Which I think, like 'Water for Elephants' as well, I'm just trying to find that kind of stuff, because what else is the point? There's so much generic, everything's the same. So you might as well attempt to try something different."

When we caught up with him again in April, Rob revealed that he'd been working with a dialect coach to achieve a "very specific accent." But he still hadn't spoken with Gadon about the upcoming project. "I've seen a couple of things she's done," he said. "She's really good."
